ABOUT THE PROJECT

Creative Drama and Games in ELT is a project based on enjoyable and effective games in English language teaching as well as Creative drama in English language teaching. The project will improve the skills of the foreign language of the student to upper levels in an enjoyable way. The aims of the project are parallel with the aims of Erasmus+. Multilingualism is one of the cornerstones of the European project and a powerful symbol of the EU's aspiration to be united in diversity. Foreign languages have a prominent role among the skills that will help equip people better for the labor market and make the most of available opportunities. The EU has set the goal that every citizen should have the opportunity to acquire at least two foreign languages, from an early age. The age of Creative Drama and Games in ELT project is 11-16 years old. Our project is aiming to teach English to the secondary school level. According to the Erasmus+ guide, strategic partnerships in the area of language teaching and learning will be encouraged. Innovation and good practices aiming to promote language skills can include for example teaching using foreign languages. With Creative Drama and Games in ELT project, an innovative method that blends creative drama and games will be published and these practices will be shared as good practices. For motivation, six schools carried out SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threatens) analysis about English Language Teaching. According to the analysis,
Strengths
*Students love English lessons.
*Students are willing to learn English.
*The teachers are willing to develop their teaching methods. 
Weakness
*Students have anxiety against speaking English.
*Students do not prefer speaking English.
Opportunities
*Learning English is an opportunity for students. 
*Creative drama will help students to reduce the anxiety levels of the students.
Threatens
*Students can be too shy to speak English.
By taking the results of the SWOT analysis into consideration, all the schools need an innovative method that will be effective and enjoyable. This project will satisfy these needs. Moreover, students will feel more comfortable while performing a role play on a stage. This will promote self-empowerment and self-esteem of the students. This aim will take place among the aims of the Erasmus. The motivation of the project is to increase the English levels of the students with enjoyable games while creative drama will lessen the anxiety levels of the students. The reason why it should be funded was that the aims of the project and Erasmus+ are the same for example, Erasmus aims at enhancing notably the participants' foreign languages competence and raising participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity. Games and Creative Drama will transfer these aims.
